From Nancy

I highly recommend The Soul of an Octopus:  A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness by Sy Montgomery!!!!

Frances told me Margot loved "The Octopus Teacher" movie, as I did, and now I'm immersed in this book by this cool female biologist who is way into the world of cephalopods!!!!

For Francie's Train Trip

From Nancy:

I love Geraldine Brooks' historical fiction - Horse is her latest!
Also, I just finished The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon about an 18th century American midwife! Fantastic tale!

From Margot:

My suggestions are a bit different.
I am currently listening to Lovely One: Ketanji Brown Jackson's memoir.

I also really enjoyed Knife; Salmon Rushdie's account of his stabbing in 2022.
(I listened to this one twice.)

From Anne Marie:

I think Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead is a great read. It's a caper set in 1960's Harlem so there is a bit of history thrown in as well. There is also a sequel Crook's Manifesto that is good as well but should be read after "Harlem Shuffle."

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles is another favorite.
